I don't know shit about a pre-http world. I assume anyone who cares about it is old and half-blind from a life of myopic screen staring. That's also a nice excuse for not caring about it, or trying to care about it. Because hanging on to technology like IRC or Gopher, and writing hate comments on the HTTP-protocol, is clearly not walking the same direction as the winds of change are blowing.
