The War Of The Tree Henrys
So this is apparently the eigth conflinct during the »French Wars of Religion«, which just makes me respect my own Europa Universalis mastery even more for crushing the peasent conflict swiftly and harshly.
The subject of the war's title are:
| Name | Title | Lordship |
|---|---|---|
| Henry | of Navarre | Navarre, then France |
| Henry | III of France | France, but also the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth |
| Henry | I | Dukedom of Guise |
The entire conflict is a bit of a mouthful to complete in one sitting, but the gist is:
The French king's heir and brother died suddenly, causing a succession crisis. The next in line is the Protestant chud Henry of Navarre, which the Catholic faction does not support. The Catholic faction got the support of Habsburg Spain. The Royalists disinherited Henry of Navarre, and outlawed Protestantism, causing him and the Huguenots to unleash their chud rage in rebellion. It went a bit back and forth, but Henry of Navarre ended up winning by outliving the two other Henrys and after still getting fucked by the Spanish army he just took the easy win and converted to Catholicism, becoming King of France, Henry IV.
